About the Board
The Polk County Industrial Economic Development Board is committed to supporting the county’s economic development and encouraging responsible growth throughout Polk County.
The Board’s mission is to attract industry, health care, recreation, retail development, and jobs by working with enterprises and encouraging organizations to locate and do business in Polk County.
Polk County offers a community rich in natural resources, recreation, and history, with convenient access to Chattanooga, Knoxville, Atlanta, and Birmingham.
Board History: The Polk County Industrial Economic Development Board was established in Tennessee in 1981.
Board Structure: The Board consists of seven volunteer citizen members representing Polk County’s four districts.
Board Members
Ryan Cooke
Owner of Lake Ocoee Inn & Marina and Ocoee Inn Rafting. He also serves on other Polk County and recreation-related boards and committees focused on community growth.
Greg Barker
A native of Polk County, former County Commissioner, and current mayor of Copperhill, bringing political and financial experience to the Board.
Monica Farrow
Founder and President of Society Hill with experience in public affairs, consulting, government, and higher education.
Kenneth Bishop
Owner of Ken’s Casuals in Benton and a longtime part of Polk County’s local business community.
Rick Brooks
Member of the Polk County Industrial Economic Development Board.
Byron Haynes
Member of the Polk County Industrial Economic Development Board.
Tim Kaylor
Member of the Polk County Industrial Economic Development Board.

Projects & Development
The Board supports projects intended to improve quality of life and strengthen the county’s economy for residents, businesses, and future development.
One highlighted project on the PolkIEDB site is the addition of Food City - Ocoee, which was developed to bring expanded grocery and shopping options closer to home for Polk County residents.
